If you’re a beginner formulator and you don’t know what to buy for your mini lab then you’ve come to the right place.
It’s important to remember that you probably don’t have to buy everything at once unless you want to make all kinds of skincare products right from the start. I will share the tools and equipment you need to begin your journey with affiliate links to amazon. I earn small commissions from qualifying purchases with no additional costs to you. So let’s start!
If you plan on making shampoo bars, bath bombs, and bubble bars then it’s a good idea to have a set of bowls as it gives you more room to stir your mixtures.
Dedicated stirring rods and spatulas make our life as formulators so much easier, silicone spatulas are great at scraping product off beakers, glass rods are a breeze to clean and sanitize, and the stainless mini spatulas come in handy to scoop out small amounts of powdered ingredients (hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, micas, gums, etc).
The first thing you need as a beginner formulator is a set of glass beakers of different sizes. They can tolerate high temperatures and be used for a variety of products such as lotions, serums, masks, toners, body butters, and more. once you get the hang of creating your skincare items it’s better to get more beakers in larger sizes for scaling up formulation batches.
